Usability: The Top Ten Weblog Design Mistakes

Usability guru Jakob Nielsen's latest Alertbox column is on the top ten weblog design mistakes.

"Summary:
Weblogs are often too internally focused and ignore key usability issues, making it hard for new readers to understand the site and trust the author."

As usual Nielsen has some excellent advice. Unlike many of his columns, however, most of the design flaws noted in this edition of Alertbox are easy to correct. While you may not think usability matters in a weblog, Nielsen points out that usability is important "when you want to reach new readers who aren't your mother".

If you have a weblog or are thinking of starting one, go read Nielson's latest Alertbox now.
